MEET Jacquelyn  Cauthen  

Jacquelyn  Cauthen, also known as Nana Jackie, wears many hats. Born in Harlem, New York City, she is the mother of three adult sons and an adopted daughter.  As a Health Educator and Certified Life Skills & Success Coach, she has offered “Being Girl” and “A Time for Answers” presentations to over twenty thousand N.Y. public and parochial school students in the Bronx and tri-state area.

In 2005, Ms. Cauthen established Bronx Wholistic Network [BW2], a community of Health conscious individuals, who are committed to educating, motivating, and servicing our female youth and provide on-going support. She is also a certified Success Coach, dedicating herself as an Adolescent Life Skills Educator. Ms. Cauthen has served as a NYC School RN and as Nurse Facilitator and Trainer for the NYC Department of Health/School Nurse Division.

Ms. Cauthen’s long term goal is to have one million girls participate in the nationwide BECOMING D.I.V.A.S. Program; using the DIVAS Handbook as a practical guide. 

She holds an RN and B.A., and has been a professional registered nurse for over 45 years specializing in Maternal and Child Health and Public Health Nursing.   For over twenty years, in partnership with Women’s Health Bridges [P &G] Ms. Cauthen has established herself as a Community Health Educator/Practitioner.

Over the years, Ms. Cauthen has mastered works in cultural creative arts. She is the creator of multi-media, wall murals, Afro-Centric quilts and original face masks. To see them, visit Imani Heritage Masks.

Jacquelyn is an acknowledged writer, self-published poet, author and journey teller, imparting her words of wisdom with a winning smile.

Her inspiration for this book comes from her many years as an educator, but especially as a confident to her two youngest granddaughters.
